My research is focused on Bibliometrics and Web studies, studying issues related to new scholarly publishing and dissemination ways on the Web (Scholarly social networks, Academic search engines, Altmetrics, etc.). The main research lines are:

  • Meaning and reach of alternative metrics (altmetrics) as tool to understand the social impact of science and their influence on the research evaluation.
  • Broad study of the different scientific information systems (Citation indexes, Academic search engines, Scholarly social networks) and their role in the dissemination and impact of scholarly outputs.
  • Study of several aspects related to scientific and economic innovation using bibliometric techniques.
  • Analysis of scientific fraud and misconduct through scholarly publications.
