UTEA – Technical Unit of Applied Studies
The Technical Unit of Applied Studies (UTEA) is a service specialising in the field of social science methodology and is involved in the design and execution of applied research projects. The Unit collaborates in the investigative work of the Institute’s research staff by providing technical and methodological support, and data production and analysis through qualitative and quantitative techniques.
UTEA’s mission is to incorporate technical and methodological advances from social science fields in the Institute’s research activity, contributing to knowledge generation in this area of investigation. There are a number of professionals with ample experience in the different facets of methodological specialisation: qualitative and quantitative techniques and complex statistical analyses. A recent innovative proposal is UTEA’s introduction of several services listed in the National Research Council’s (CSIC) Catalogue of Services which can be of benefit to other institutes, centres or entities, should they so require.
